AT&T has recently field suit against Verizon over it’s recent iPhone-inspired “There’s a map for that” commercials. Verizon’s ad campaigns tout it’s 3G network by comparing it’s coverage to AT&T’s 3G Network. AT&T’s suit involves monetary damages suffered due to the ads and requests an injuction preventing Verizon from depicting non-3G coverage areas in AT&T’s network as black spaces on the maps in the commercials.

Apple has just made a move to prevent Jailbreaking and other hacks on it’s iPhone hardware in an a attempt to stop app piracy. The iPhone 3GS bootrom was modified in mid-production and made immune to the so-called “24kpwn” exploit which allowed the iPhone to be Jailbroken. So users purchasing a new iPhone 3GS will not be able to Jailbreak until a solution is found.
